Questions, answered.
Do families need an account?
No. Boards are public to read. Accounts exist only for posting: a school account keeps a board, an organization account sends flyers to one.
What can I upload?
PDFs, PowerPoint files, and PNG or JPEG images, up to 75 MB each, and up to 30 on a board at a time.
Can I change my address later?
Yes, from settings. Links to the old address stop working once you do.
Can outside groups send us flyers?
Yes, if you turn it on. PTAs, clubs and local organizations sign up for a free organization account, confirm their email and get a link to submit. Nothing they send reaches your board until you approve it.
How do I take a flyer down?
Delete it from your dashboard and the file is removed from storage with it. Or give it an end date and it comes down on its own.
What does it cost?
boardio is free. It is also open source under the MIT license, so you can run it yourself.
Can I run it myself?
Yes. It needs Next.js, Vercel Postgres and Vercel Blob, and nothing else.
